Preparing for Florence’s Weather – Season by Season
Florence, Italy, offers a rich experience in every season. Here’s how to prepare for each:
Spring (March-May) — Springtime in Florence brings mild temperatures ranging from 50°F to 70°F. Light layers are perfect for handling the warm days and cooler nights. Don’t forget a light rain jacket, as showers are common.
Summer (June – August) — Summers can get hot, often exceeding 85°F. Pack light clothing, sunglasses, hats, and plenty of sunscreen. Be sure to stay hydrated while exploring the city!
Autumn (September – November) — Autumn sees temperatures drop to between 45°F and 75°F. A mix of summer and autumn clothes would be ideal. Include a sweater or light jacket for the cooler evenings.
Winter (December – February) — Winters are chilly but not freezing, with temperatures between 35°F and 55°G. Warm clothing requires thermal layers, a heavy coat, scarves, gloves, and a hat. Waterproof shoes can be helpful if it rains.
