Louvre Collections
More than 60,600 square meters are devoted to the permanent collection at the Musée du Louvre, which houses over 380,000 artifacts and showcases 35,000 art pieces throughout eight curatorial departments. Louvre sculptures, objects of art, famous paintings, sketches, and even archaeological artifacts may all be seen at the Louvre. The collections span about 11,000 years of human history and civilization, as shown by the artworks and objects inside them. Among the many other renowned artists in the museum’s permanent collection are Leonardo da Vinci, Delacroix, Rubens, and Vermeer. Art from Egypt, Islam, Greeks, and Romans are also displayed.
