History of the Wildlife Sydney Zoo

Interestingly, the wildlife sanctuary is part of an extended project of the famous Sydney Aquarium. The aquarium was expanded to build a wildlife park, which was renamed the now-famous Wildlife Sydney Zoo. Unlike other National parks, this one is not based on natural surroundings. The designers created a space of habitation for all animals in a closed area. The roof is open, and the design is inspired by stories of Aboriginals, which adds a historical and cultural element to this space.

Wildlife Sydney Zoo offers a safe environment for everyone to nurture trust and love for animals. But before you visit, there are a few things you must consider for a safe and seamless experience. Here are a few:

• Animals are not meant to be touched under any circumstances. As per the laws of New South Wales, no animals can be touched or held by a visitor. This is for your and their safety, so please keep that in mind.
• Please accompany your children at all times. The zoo requires adult supervision for children over 16 years. 
• Don’t feed animals at any cost by yourself. 
• Don’t carry snacks, as animals tend to get enticed by such treats. 
• Wear comfortable shoes and clothes to enjoy the trip. 
• The last entry is at 4 pm; kindly adhere to the timings for a smooth experience.

How to arrive to Wildlife Sydney Zoo

• Train: Two stations, Wynyard and Town Hall station, are located near Wildlife Sydney Zoo, which is within walking distance. You must follow the downhill path to the zoo. You can also take the light train and get off at Pyrmont Bay station. 
• Metro: The nearest metro station is Bengaroo. From here, you can walk towards the zoo. 
• Bus: You can take bus no 24 of Sydney Explorer, which will drop you off at Market Street.
• Ferry: You can access ferries for a scenic trip from Circular Quay Wharf to Darling Harbour. Ferries are found every half an hour at these ports.
