Tourist office Amalfi
The Comune di Amalfi, through its Visit Amalfi destination management organisation, runs 3 tourist information points: the Infopoint in the Arsenale della Repubblica, open all year, and 2 Fast Information Points, one in Piazza della Bussola in the summer months and one in Piazza Duomo from Friday to Sunday.
The Infopoint works as a concierge desk for the town's sights and the Amalfi Experience network of local operators, and it also handles access and tickets for the Museo della Bussola e del Ducato Marinaro, which the Arsenale houses.

Location: Largo Cesareo Console, inside the Arsenale della Repubblica, a few steps from the Cathedral and Piazza Flavio Gioia

Anyone visiting Amalfi can follow the guide's walking route, which starts at Marina Grande and the Arsenale della Repubblica, climbs through Piazza Duomo to the Duomo di Sant'Andrea and its Cloister of Paradise, and then heads up the valley to the Museo della Carta.
The guide also points out places that need no ticket, such as Saint Andrew's Fountain, the lanes of Atrani and the gorge path of the Valle delle Ferriere, and it explains how a town of a few thousand people gave its name to the whole Amalfi Coast.
Public holidays in Amalfi to plan around
On a public holiday, offices, museums and transport in Amalfi may close or switch to holiday hours. Italy has 12 national holiday dates, and every Sunday is a public holiday as well. Easter Monday moves each year, falling on 6 April in 2026 and on 29 March in 2027. The national feast of Saint Francis of Assisi on 4 October has been a public holiday since 1 January 2026.
Amalfi celebrates its patron saint, Sant'Andrea, twice a year, with a summer feast on 27 June and the local holiday on 30 November, the day on which the Catholic Church calendar marks the apostle.
The Fast Information Point in Piazza Duomo also opens on public holidays, and the hours of the Infopoint in the Arsenale della Repubblica run every day of the week with no holiday closure published.
