This Lisbon tourist map marks the 12 top sights, 30 hidden gems in orange and a 6.0 km walking route through the centre, from Sao Jorge Castle to the National Museum of Ancient Art. It is free to view, print and download.

The numbers below match the pins on the map, the PDF and the video. The first 6 sights sit on the walking route through the centre; the other 6 are reached by tram, train or metro.
Marked in orange on the map: 30 smaller sights worth a detour, 22 of them close to the centre. The PDF lists all of them with addresses.
The PDF is the same map on four A4 pages. Page 1 holds the map of the centre with the numbered legend, how to get around and the licence. Pages 2 and 3 list the 12 sights with a photo, a short text and the full address, including the transport for the 6 outside the walking route. Start of a 6.0 km (3.7 miles) route, about 1 h 20 on foot. The castle crowns the hill above Alfama on Rua de Santa Cruz do Castelo, and entry is ticketed. Martim Moniz station on the Green line is about 12 minutes' walk below. The route drops through the old lanes to Largo da Sé.
On Largo da Sé, the city's oldest church, begun in the 12th century. The visit to the naves, the high choir and the treasury is ticketed, and it is closed on Sundays. Tram 28E stops at Sé. The route then heads downhill to the river.
The riverside square, free at any hour, with the Cais das Colunas steps and the statue of King Jose I; the viewpoint on the Arco da Rua Augusta is ticketed. Terreiro do Paço station on the Blue line serves it. Walk north through the arch into the Baixa grid.
On Rua do Ouro in the Baixa, the iron lift of 1902 climbs to Largo do Carmo. Carris lists it as temporarily closed, so check the operator's service updates first. Baixa-Chiado station, on the Blue and Green lines, is close by. Continue north to Largo de São Domingos.
On Largo de São Domingos, one narrow room has poured ginjinha since 1840, with no admission charge, beside the fire-scarred Church of St. Dominic. Rossio station on the Green line is close by. The last and longest leg, 2.7 km, heads west through Chiado and Santos.
The route ends on Rua das Janelas Verdes, above the docks, at the 17th-century palace of the national museum of early art. It has been closed for a refit since September 2025, with reopening expected in the second half of 2026. Tram 15E stops below at Cais Rocha.
The centre is walkable but hilly: the 6 stops cover 6.0 km, about 1 h 20 on foot, with steep lanes around the castle and Alfama. The longest leg, 2.7 km, runs from A Ginjinha to the National Museum of Ancient Art through Chiado and Santos.
Metro de Lisboa serves the Baixa: Terreiro do Paço (Blue line) for Praca do Comercio, Baixa-Chiado (Blue and Green lines) for Santa Justa Lift and Rossio (Green line) for A Ginjinha. Sao Jorge Castle is about 12 minutes uphill from Martim Moniz (Green line). Carris tram 28E stops at Sé, and tram 15E at Cais Rocha, below the museum.
