Tourist office London
Visit London, the official visitor guide published by London & Partners, the growth agency supported by the Mayor of London, does not run a walk-in tourist office of its own. The capital's 7 official visitor information centres are run by other bodies: Transport for London runs five, at Victoria, Piccadilly Circus, King's Cross St Pancras, Liverpool Street and Heathrow; the City of London Corporation runs the City Information Centre beside St Paul's Cathedral; and Visit Greenwich keeps the tourist information desk at Cutty Sark Gardens. City of London Information Centre
Location: St Paul's Churchyard, EC4M 8BX, on the south side of St Paul's Cathedral by the Millennium Bridge
Opening hours: Monday to Saturday 09:30 to 17:30, Sunday 10:00 to 16:00
Run by the City of London Corporation, with free City Visitor Trail maps, self-guided walks and daily guided walks.
Victoria Visitor Centre
Location: Victoria rail station, opposite platform 8, SW1V 1JU
Opening hours: Monday to Saturday 09:00 to 16:30, closed on Sunday
Run by Transport for London, with travel ticket advice, maps and tickets for tours and attractions.
Piccadilly Circus Visitor Centre
Location: Inside Piccadilly Circus Underground station, W1J 9HS
Opening hours: Monday to Saturday 09:00 to 16:30, closed on Sunday
Run by Transport for London, whose visitor shop site lists this centre as Thursday to Saturday only.
King's Cross St Pancras Visitor Centre
Location: Western ticket hall of the Underground station, Euston Road, N1C 4TB

Liverpool Street Visitor Centre
Location: Liverpool Street Underground station, on the eastern edge of the City of London

Heathrow Visitor Centre

Greenwich Tourist Information Centre

Richmond station information kiosk
Location: Richmond station, in the borough of Richmond upon Thames, southwest London
Opening hours: Seven days a week, 10:00 to 15:00 in summer and 10:00 to 14:00 in winter
Not run by Visit London: the kiosk belongs to VisitRichmond, the tourism board of the borough council.

The London guide on Tourist Office gathers what to do in London in one place: a one day itinerary across the centre and the ten landmarks worth booking ahead, from the Tower of London and Westminster Abbey to Kew Gardens, Buckingham Palace and the London Eye.
It also sets out what the city offers for free, the small and odd museums that rarely make a first visit, the tunnels, crypts and Roman remains under the streets, and the concerts, shows and matches coming up in the weeks ahead.
Keep the city and national holiday calendar in mind
Public holidays change the rhythm of a visit more than most travellers expect. Banks and offices close, many attractions switch to a holiday timetable and public transport runs a reduced service, so a day built around a single museum or market can fall flat. England and Wales share one bank holiday calendar, and it sets 8 dates for 2026. Two of them stand apart: nothing runs on the Transport for London network on Christmas Day, the Boxing Day service is limited, and Visit London warns that most attractions, shops and restaurants close on both days.

Local holidays in London 2026
London adds no local holidays to that calendar: the England and Wales list above is the only one that applies in the capital. The extra dates kept elsewhere in the United Kingdom, among them 2 January and St Andrew's Day in Scotland and St Patrick's Day and the Battle of the Boyne in Northern Ireland, are not holidays in London.
The Greenwich tourist information desk keeps its 10:00 to 16:00 hours on bank holidays. The other centres publish their opening times on the official pages linked above, and it is worth checking them before a holiday weekend. On Easter Sunday large shops in London have to close by law, while small shops may open.
