Tourist office Los Angeles
The Los Angeles Tourism & Convention Board, the non-profit that promotes Los Angeles as a destination, keeps no walk-in tourist information office open: its visitor information centres, including Hollywood & Highland and Union Station, remain closed. In person, at least 5 points run by other bodies help visitors: the Union Station/Gateway Transit Customer Center, run by Metro, the information booths at Los Angeles International Airport, and the visitor centres of the separate cities of Santa Monica and Beverly Hills.

Public holidays in Los Angeles to plan around
On a public holiday, offices, museums and transport in Los Angeles may close or switch to holiday hours. There are 11 federal holidays in both 2026 and 2027. In the City of Los Angeles, a national holiday that falls on a Saturday is observed on the Friday, and one that falls on a Sunday on the Monday. Farmworkers Day on 31 March and the day after Thanksgiving are also state holidays in California. The Los Angeles Public Library, a City department, closes on all the federal dates in 2026, on Monday 30 March, on Easter Sunday 5 April, on Saturday 4 July and on 27 November; in the City, 12 October is Indigenous Peoples' Day. Unless a sign says 'Holidays Enforced', the City does not enforce parking meters or time limits on the national holidays, and street-sweeping restrictions are also lifted on Cesar Chavez Day and the day after Thanksgiving, while safety rules such as red zones and disabled zones stay enforced.
