Tourist office Okinawa
Naha, on Okinawa's main island, has 4 official tourist information points. The Okinawa Convention & Visitors Bureau (OCVB), the prefecture's tourism body, points visitors to three of them on its Visit Okinawa Japan website: the Okinawa Tourist Information Center at Naha Bus Terminal and the two Naha Airport Tourist Information Offices, for domestic and international flights. The fourth, Naha City Tourist Information on Kokusai-dori, is run by the Naha City Tourism Association.
Staff at all four answer questions in English, Chinese and Korean. The Chatan Town Tourist Information Center, in central Okinawa, belongs to the town's own tourism association.

Naha Airport Tourist Information Office (Domestic)

Opening hours: 09:00 to 21:00, open every day of the year; tickets are sold until 18:00
Counter staff advise in Japanese, English, Chinese and Korean on access to sights, accommodation and events.
Naha Airport Tourist Information Office (International)
Location: 1F Naha Airport international terminal, 280 Kagamizu
Opening hours: 09:00 to 19:00, open every day of the year; tickets are sold until 18:00
In the international arrival lobby; counter staff advise in Japanese, English, Chinese and Korean.
Naha City Tourist Information
Location: Tenbusu Naha 1F, 3-2-10 Makishi, on Kokusai-dori
Opening hours: 09:00 to 19:00, closed 31 December to 2 January, closes at 17:30 on 30 December
Run by the Naha City Tourism Association, with staff for English, Chinese and Korean; hours can change during typhoons.
Chatan Town Tourist Information Center
Location: 16-3 Mihama, Chatan, Nakagami-gun
Opening hours: 09:00 to 18:00, closed 29 December to 3 January
Not run by the Okinawa Convention & Visitors Bureau or Naha City: the centre belongs to the Chatan Town Tourism Association.

National and local holidays in Okinawa
On public holidays, museums, attractions and shops in Okinawa may close or switch to holiday hours, and Naha City Hall keeps its offices closed. Japan's Act on National Holidays sets one calendar for the whole country, and the Cabinet Office lists 18 dates off for 2026: 16 national holidays plus 2 further public holidays created by the Act's own rules, one because Constitution Memorial Day falls on a Sunday and one because a weekday sits between two national holidays.

Local holidays in Okinawa 2026
- 23 June Irei no Hi (Memorial Day), a day set by Okinawa Prefecture's own ordinance and not a national holiday
Okinawa Prefecture designates 23 June as Irei no Hi by ordinance, marking the day organised fighting in the Battle of Okinawa ended, and holds its memorial service for the war dead at Peace Memorial Park in Itoman on that day. Naha City lists Irei no Hi among the days its City Hall is closed, together with Saturdays, Sundays, national holidays and 29 December to 3 January.
The Okinawa Tourist Information Center and both Naha Airport offices are open every day of the year, and Naha City Tourist Information closes only from 31 December to 2 January.
