Tourist office Rotterdam
Rotterdam Partners, the official destination marketing organisation of Rotterdam, runs Rotterdam Tourist Information at 2 locations: a desk in the main hall of Rotterdam Central Station and a tourist information point on Stationsweg in Hoek van Holland, the part of Rotterdam on the coast. City hosts at both give personal tips and hand out the free Official City Map, and the desk at the station also sells attraction and public transport tickets and the Rotterdam City Card. Port Pavilion, the port visitor centre on the Leuvehaven run by the Port of Rotterdam Authority, also has Port Hosts from Rotterdam Tourist Information.

Discover Rotterdam in detail
The Rotterdam guide on Tourist Office is the place to start for anyone visiting Rotterdam. It opens with a first day on foot from the Grote of Sint-Laurenskerk to the Markthal, the Cube Houses and Oude Haven, then on to the Erasmusbrug, the Euromast and Depot Boijmans Van Beuningen.
It also picks out the sights that cost nothing, from Het Park and Delfshaven to Kralingse Bos, adds museums such as the Kunsthal, Fenix and the Wereldmuseum, and rounds up the shows and other events coming up in the city.
Keep the city and national holiday calendar in mind
Public holidays can change opening hours across Rotterdam: museums, shops, attractions and public services may close or switch to holiday hours. The Dutch government lists 11 official holidays in the Netherlands in 2026, on 11 different dates, and Rotterdam adds none of its own. The government also points out that no Dutch law turns an official holiday into a day off for employees: each employment contract or collective agreement decides, and on Good Friday and Liberation Day in particular not everyone is off work.
National holidays in the Netherlands 2026
- 1 January New Year's Day (Nieuwjaarsdag)
- 3 April Good Friday (Goede Vrijdag)

Local holidays in Rotterdam 2026
Rotterdam has no local holidays on top of the national calendar. The official holidays of the Netherlands are set nationally, and the City of Rotterdam's rules on shop hours list only those national holidays and a few special days such as Christmas Eve and 4 May.
Those rules allow shops to open from 08:00 to 22:00 on Sundays and on New Year's Day, Easter Monday, Ascension Day, Whit Monday and both Christmas days, and from 06:00 to 22:00 on King's Day, Liberation Day, Good Friday, Christmas Eve and New Year's Eve. On 4 May shops must close by 19:00 at the latest. No separate holiday hours are published for the two Rotterdam Tourist Information locations.
