The Tokyo Metropolitan Government runs 6 Tokyo Tourist Information Centers, and GO TOKYO, the official Tokyo travel guide of the Tokyo Convention & Visitors Bureau, publishes their addresses and hours. They are at the Tokyo Metropolitan Government Building in Nishi-Shinjuku, Busta Shinjuku, Haneda Airport, Keisei Ueno Station, the bus terminal floor of TOFROM YAESU TOWER and ecute Tachikawa in the Tama area, and all 6 are listed below. Each gives sightseeing, transport and accommodation information and free Wi-Fi.
The Tokyo Metropolitan Government has also designated 517 Tokyo Tourist Information Desks, run with municipalities and private businesses; they are not counted here.

Keep the city and national holiday calendar in mind
Public holidays can change the shape of a stay in Tokyo. Museums, gardens and other attractions may keep holiday hours or set their closing days around them. Japan's Act on National Holidays fixes a single calendar for the whole country, and the Cabinet Office lists 18 days off for 2026: 16 national holidays plus 2 public holidays that follow from the Act's own rules, one because Constitution Memorial Day falls on a Sunday and one because a weekday sits between two national holidays. With the weekends, they make two five-day breaks in 2026, from Saturday 2 May to Wednesday 6 May and from Saturday 19 September to Wednesday 23 September.

Local holidays in Tokyo 2026
Tokyo has no local holidays of its own added to the national calendar: Japan's public holidays are the days set by the Act on National Holidays. Tokyo Citizens' Day on 1 October is not a public holiday, but on that day in 2026 the Tokyo Metropolitan Government waives admission at a number of its gardens, zoos and museums.
The Tokyo Tourist Information Centers open seven days a week. The one at the Tokyo Metropolitan Government Building closes over the year-end and New Year holidays, and the Tama centre keeps shorter hours on Sundays and holidays.
