Tourist office Madrid
Madrid Destino Cultura, Turismo y Negocio, the municipal company of Madrid City Council, runs the official tourist office network of the city: 1 tourist information centre on the Plaza Mayor and 9 tourist information points, 10 in all, from the Royal Palace and the Paseo del Prado to the Bernabéu stadium and both terminals of Adolfo Suárez Madrid-Barajas Airport. Staff hand out free maps and brochures, answer questions in several languages and most of the points sell the Madrid City Card. All 10 are listed below with their address and opening hours.

Plaza Mayor Tourist Information Centre
Location: Plaza Mayor, 27, inside the Casa de la Panadería
Opening hours: Monday to Sunday 10:00 to 20:00, open 365 days a year
The largest and most central point of the network, beside the official souvenir shop and a Madrid City Card sales point.
Madrid-Barajas Airport Terminal 4 information point
Location: Avenida de la Hispanidad, in Terminal 4 arrivals next to baggage reclaim
Opening hours: Monday to Sunday 09:00 to 21:30
Open year round, with an accessible counter, a hearing loop and a braille map of the city.
Madrid-Barajas Airport Terminal 2 information point
Location: Avenida de la Hispanidad, 1, in Terminal 2 between lounges 5 and 6
Opening hours: Monday to Sunday 09:00 to 21:30
The desk nearest the metro line 8 station for terminals 1, 2 and 3, with brochures downloadable by QR code.
Royal Palace Tourist Information Point
Location: Calle de Bailén, at the corner of Calle Requena

Next to the Royal Palace and the Teatro Real opera house, with service in several languages.
Paseo del Prado Tourist Information Point
Location: Plaza de Cánovas del Castillo, 1, beside the Prado Museum

Covers cultural events and activities across the city, has a hearing loop and sells the Madrid City Card.
Reina Sofía Tourist Information Point
Location: Calle de Santa Isabel, 52, by the Reina Sofía Museum

CentroCentro Tourist Information Point
Location: Plaza de Cibeles, 1, inside the Cibeles Palace, Madrid City Hall
Opening hours: Tuesday to Sunday 10:00 to 20:00, 5 January 10:00 to 14:00, closed on Mondays, 1 and 6 January, 1 May and 24, 25 and 31 December
Specialises in artistic and cultural information, with remote sign language interpretation.

Cuesta de Moyano Information Point

Comunidad de Madrid tourist centre on Puerta del Sol

Not run by Madrid City Council: this centre belongs to the Comunidad de Madrid and covers the whole region.

Shops and museums move to holiday timetables, public transport can run a reduced service and a day built around a market or a municipal museum can fall flat. Madrid keeps 14 paid public holidays in 2026: the 8 that apply across the whole of Spain, 4 more set by the Comunidad de Madrid and 2 that the city council fixes for itself, San Isidro on 15 May and the Almudena on 9 November. Two of the regional days exist only because All Saints' Day and Constitution Day fall on a Sunday in 2026 and the region moved them to the following Monday.

Most of the city information points close early at 17:00 on 24 and 31 December and open late at 11:00 on 25 December and 1 January, and the Plaza Mayor centre shortens its hours from 13 to 17 May for San Isidro. The CentroCentro point is the exception listed as closed on 1 and 6 January, 1 May and 24, 25 and 31 December, and the regional centre on Puerta del Sol closes on 1 May, 25 December and 1 January.
