Berlin Tourismus & Kongress GmbH, which trades as visitBerlin and is the official tourism and congress organisation of the city, runs 4 Berlin Tourist Info centres. Three of them are in the historic centre, at the Central Station, in the south wing of the Brandenburg Gate and inside the Humboldt Forum, and the fourth is the WelcomeCenter at Berlin Brandenburg Airport. All four open seven days a week with multilingual staff behind the counter, who hand out and sell city maps and guides, book hotel rooms, sell tickets for museums, tours and events, and issue the city tourist tickets.

Public holidays reshape a visit more than most travellers expect. On the statutory holidays and on Sundays the Berlin rules impose a general ban on publicly noticeable work, so most shops stay shut, museums and attractions switch to holiday timetables and public transport runs a thinner service. Local holidays in Berlin 2026
Berlin is a city-state, so the day the Land keeps for itself is also the local one. That day is International Women's Day, listed by the Senate Department for the Interior and Sport among the statutory holidays of the Land of Berlin, and in 2026 it falls on a Sunday and stays a holiday. It is the only date on this page that does not apply across the country.

Each of the four visitBerlin centres publishes one set of opening hours covering all seven days of the week on its own page. Among the points listed above, only the tourist information in Spandau publishes a holiday rule, and the district office states that it closes on Sundays and public holidays, so it pays to check the day before setting out.
