Events in Naples, Italy
This September, Naples fills its churches, squares and museums with live music and autumn openings, and the listing runs on into late October. Gianni Morandi plays the Arena Flegrea on 1 October, Raf and Willie Peyote follow later in the month, and Candlelight tributes to Coldplay and Pino Daniele light a historic Chiaia church. The Jazz Room brings a New Orleans set to Teatro Summarte. On the city calendar, Isolympia and Napoli Obliqua take over the streets, while Capodimonte shows Canto Napoli and the MADRE runs Maria Lai. It adds up to one of the city's fullest cultural stretches.

Bank holidays and local festivities in Naples
Public holidays reshape a visit more than most travellers expect. Public offices and banks close, museums and shops often switch to a holiday timetable and public transport can run a reduced service, so a day built around a single museum can fall apart. Italy fixes its civil holidays by national law, and the list grew for 2026: a law passed in October 2025 added 4 October, the feast of Saint Francis of Assisi, patron saint of Italy, with effect from 1 January 2026. The law also counts every Sunday as a public holiday, which is why Easter Sunday, on 5 April 2026, is not listed separately. On top of the national list the state calendar adds the feast of the patron saint of each city, and in Naples that day falls on 19 September.
